The Peterson System traps moisture for a dryer smoke.
The bowl depth includes the System. With the STRAIGHT System, the bottom of the bowl sits above the stem; imagine a dummy floor with a hole in the middle. There is approx 10mm from the bottom of the bowl to the bottom of the shank, the stem sits in mid air allowing a dry smoke.
